It's a Dog's Life, Barra da Lagoa, Florianopolis, BRAZIL!!!!! - May 2011

The weather was a bit cloudy, so with our new friends from the hostel we took a four hour walk along the beach. This only got us half way along, but we had to hotfoot it back to avoid the downpour, which we were unsuccessful at.

We had a small pack of beach dogs escort us all the way and when they were not fighting over the lady, they were quite good company. We even taught them how to take photos. Whilst our camera was on a tripod, one dog took a liking to it, and grabbed it and ran off down the beach with it, whilst the camera was taking multiple timer shots. I think you can see the sequence below, including the ones of us trying to remove the sand from the lens when he dropped it lens down in the sand. Much to our good fortune, the camera is still functioning.

The friends were; Alysson (Brasilina), Rodrigo (Chilean) and Brian (Irish/American). Rodrigo and Brian are both travelling on motorbikes. Brian has cycled from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego and is now heading back up.
